Sketchbook Weekly #3

I'm going to be at the MegaCon in Orlando, fl representing Ringling School and The Blogarians for the weekend. I'm going to include some figure paintings in this weeks post because I enjoy them and I think they are essential to any artists growth and development. The paintings are quick three hour studies. My main purpose when I paint is to try and explore color and composition. I also try and practice direct application of paint and experimentation of different brush stroke techniques. The sketches are fun and quick and exploratory. Hope you guys enjoy them and please let me know what you think.

you have very distinct facial features when you draw certain characters. you got this signature style that becoming its own. I love the paintings esspecially the one with the lady in it. nice stuff!

Thanks Francisco. The last three are oil studies, the scan didn't come out as good as I would have liked it because the canvas reflected a lot of light. Oh well....
